PROJECT MANAGER
JOB LOCATION: MANASQUAN, NJ; IN OFFICE - LOCAL TRAVEL REQUIRED.
STATUS: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
SUMMARY OF POSITION: This position is responsible for overseeing (including planning, directing, and coordinating) all aspects of installation of both conventional and automated theatrical rigging systems as well as finished stage curtains for Northeast Stage. The role also requires supervision and collaboration with installation teams. Note that this role may require up to 40% travel.
FORMAL EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED
REQUISET EXPERIENCE:- Min. 5 years theatrical experience in a technical position
- Min. 2 years in managerial role within the same technical field
- Management role must include creating, finalizing, and distributing paperwork.
- Management role must include budgeting and purchasing.
- Basic Safety Methodology – Project managers at Northeast Stage are responsible for the planning and execution of projects that involve situations where normal access is not available and we need to identify and create a safe access plan. We also need to be aware of existing and potential hazards and provide our installers with the necessary PPE.
- Theatrical Stage Systems – A successful candidate will have experience with the various theatrical rigging systems and stage curtains.
- Mathematics and Measurement Conventions – As part of our role as project managers we need to be able to calculate loads, limiting factors, and material needs of each project. Metric conversions may be encountered.
- Software and Computer Literacy – Northeast Stage uses various computer programs to plan and execute our projects. A successful candidate will have experience with AutoCAD, Click-up [or similar], Quickbooks, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication – A successful candidate will have a proven ability to effectively communicate digitally, in person, through e-mail, and phone conversation. This includes producing and distributing documentation such as parts lists for in-house project preparation as well as a technical breakdown for sales staff.
- Travel – In order to operate a company vehicle, a successful candidate must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Site Surveys – When meeting with perspective clients, a successful candidate will review the stage system in their entirety, not just a specific issue that brought us there in the first place. We document the site and make recommendations based on what we encounter.
- Technical Skills – A successful candidate will have the technical experience to coordinate the installation and integration of products from various manufacturers and communicate to the client and Northeast Stage staff what work would need to be done by a 3rd party contractor.
- Soft Skills – A successful candidate will need the ability to give and take criticism, establish a rapport with the installation team members as well as sales staff, and be able to adapt to changing situations as they develop.
